Actress Rumer Willis recalled the first time she had sex in a sneak peek of her upcoming Red Table Talk appearance.
“When I lost my virginity when I was 18, I was more concerned with the shame that I was feeling at not having done it,” the actress, 32, told hosts Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith and Adrienne Banfield-Norris in the episode, premiering on Tuesday, October 20. “I was not abused or it wasn’t rape, but I didn’t say yes. I wasn’t gung ho about it. But I also didn’t say no. I just let it happen.”
The daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore claimed the “older” man “took advantage” of her.
“[He] didn’t check in,” she explained. “That’s where I feel like the man’s responsibility is. No means no, but what if you can’t say no?”
Previously, Willis appeared on Red Table Talk with her mother and sister Tallulah Willis in November 2019. At the time, the three women reflected on Moore’s 2012 relapse and Tallulah, 26, said her mom was “a monster.”
“I remember, there’s just the anxiety that would come up in my body when I could sense her eyes shutting a little bit more, the way she was speaking, or she would be a lot more affectionate with me if she wasn’t sober,” she recalled.
The sisters also discussed their own struggles with substance abuse. Rumer said she “started getting anxiety attacks” while estranged from her mother and Tallulah remembered being 15 when she “almost died of alcohol poisoning.” The trio also looked back on Moore’s marriage to Ashton Kutcher from 2005 to 2013, something she talked more about in her book Inside Out, which was released in September 2019.
