Amy Winehouse’s stepfather Richard Collins has died simply days after he was hospitalised with a thriller sickness. Richard’s demise was confirmed in an announcement from the Amy Winehouse Basis, which he based following the singer’s demise in 2011.
A spokesperson for the charity tweeted: “We’re very unhappy to carry you information that our trustee Richard Collins has handed away this week.
“Devoted and caring husband to Janis, and pop to Michael and Jess, we are going to all the time bear in mind his nice humour and sense of enjoyable.
“Sending like to all of the household.”
Tributes have flooded in from followers of Amy in addition to those that knew Richard.

Fan web page, Amy Winehouse UK, penned: “Such devastating information and so sudden.
“He was all the time so form and beneficiant in the direction of the followers, together with myself. He was such a joker and so cheeky with me!
Jonathan Simpson, Labour councillor for Camden, echoed: “Richard Collins will probably be vastly missed. His humour and pop jokes all the time put a smile on everybody in a room.
She tweeted: “Hello all in Twitter land, hubby (Richard) has been in hospital since final week and we practically misplaced him twice!
“I want to thank all of the medics for giving him nice care and a spotlight. I sadly is not going to reply again to your tweets however solely give updates. Janis xxx.”
Richard and Janis appeared on Lorraine final July to mark the tenth anniversary of Amy’s demise.
Through the interview, Richard recalled the devastating second he advised Janis that her daughter had died.
“I stated, ‘Do not be foolish, we had been along with her yesterday. We had been along with her yesterday’. He stated no I am being completely severe.
Following Amy’s demise, Richard helped arrange The Amy Winehouse Basis to assist struggling younger folks.
